On this site, one can learn about McCarthyism and its
affect on the people. You can learn about one person in particular who suffered through this time of tension and fear. He
was placed on the blacklist, however, he was one of the few who were able to overcome the obstacles of getting his normal
life back. His name is Will Geer. He, along with many others, suffered the harsh persecutions, which were created off of
un-true and inconclusive evidence. Unlike many actors during this period, Geer was able to return to the television business
after the blacklist was lifted, landing himself the role that he is most remembered for today. Many during this period of
McCarthyism were unable to return to their previous lives, before they were persecuted. Many couldn’t find work, many
lost their spouses, and many suffered tremendous financial loss.
